Students can simply anesthetize flies in an empty culture vial with no bulky or expensive extra equipment. There is also less chance for dosage error. Use with FlyNap® wands (item #173027, sold separately) to dispense the appropriate amount of anesthetic, ensuring the flies remain “napping” for 50 minutes to several hours without being killed or sterilized.
