Description
A simple and elegant way to perform osmosis and diffusion experiments. The chamber includes 2 nanofiltration membranes that allow water molecules to pass through but do not allow larger molecules, such as sugars, to pass. This chamber is a more authentic model for how osmosis works in the cell membrane. To run experiments, different solutions are injected into each side of the chamber using a pipette. Students observe changes in volume on each side of the chamber and make both qualitative and quantitative observations. Comes with access to digital resources that include lab sheets, setup videos, and a template so your students can cut membranes out of other materials, such as dialysis tubing.
