Description
Nannochloropsis sp. A golden-brown marine alga that is nonmotile and commonly used as a marine food organism because it can accumulate high levels of lipids. Each algae culture contains enough material for a class of 30 students. This culture requires a high light level of 200 to 400 foot-candles of fluorescent light 18 to 24″ from the culture. Optimal medium: Alga-Gro® Seawater (item #153754). Optimum growth temperature: 22° C.
