Description
Engage students with activities that allow them to evaluate the trade-offs between agricultural production and the environment. Students first construct a calorimeter from a soda can to calculate the energy and food calories contained in different foods. They next determine how much food is required to support 1 person, then they calculate how much agricultural land is needed to produce enough food to feed the world population.
