Grades 9–12. Explore the processes of osmosis and diffusion using a semipermeable model of the cell membrane. Students will:
- Explore hypotonic, hypertonic, and isotonic solutions
- Examine how concentration, molecular size, surface area, and volume relationships affect these processes
- Use agar cubes to examine surface area and volume relationships
Students further their learning by determining the concentration of unknown salt solution.
