Description
Teach students about the internal anatomy of the heart with this fun hands-on kit. Students first explore the differences between cardiac muscle, skeletal muscle, and smooth muscle, and compare the structure and function of each muscle type within the body. They then build a clay model of the human heart, using colored clay to signify oxygenated and deoxygenated blood and adding fringed chordae tendineae to complete the model. Kit is designed for 30 students working in pairs and includes vinyl mats that guide students through the steps to build their model (and that simplify cleanup), plus 1-year access to digital resources that support 3-dimensional instruction.
