Description
Life size. This highly detailed model is the premier, hands-on teaching aid for those studying the structures and functions of the human brain. Resting in natural position on a cast of the base of the skull, this 15-part model can be disassembled to reveal the complete brain stem. Removal of the 2-part cerebral cortex, corpus callosum, frontal lobe, and the joined temporal and occipital lobes (with limbic system) reveals the complete anatomy of the brain stem with brain ventricles. The ventricles, island cortex, striate corpus, and lentiform and caudate nuclei can also be removed, exposing the underlying parts of the remaining 2-part brain stem. Significant structures are numbered and a key is included. On stand with green base. Size, 23 x 15 x 18 cm.
This model was created under the guidance of Dr. Johannes W. Rohen of the Anatomical Institute of the University of Erlangen.
