Description
The 12 rocks in this set are metamorphic rocks. Generally, they are reformed or recrystallized in the solid state by pressure and heat, and they may be influenced by chemically active solutions. Igneous, sedimentary, and other metamorphic rocks become new metamorphic rocks—those derived from preexisting rocks through the processes of erosion, followed by compaction and chemical precipitation. Each specimen is selected and hand processed by an actual geologist, ensuring the sample exhibits defining features. Specimens are about 1″ each and come with a full-color key for identification. Specimens are not numbered and may vary based on availability.
