BioBits®: Antibiotic Resistance Kit

Product Code: 216341

Description

The spread of antibiotic resistance is one of the great public health challenges of our times.

In this lab, students explore how antibiotic resistance works at the molecular level. The hands-on activity reveals molecular targets of antibiotics and antibiotic resistance genes. Using a cell-free system with fluorescent readouts, students can witness the effect of antibiotics on bacterial protein synthesis. This laboratory exercise promotes the detailed understanding of antibiotic mechanisms and bacterial resistance.
