Description
- Observe inheritance of a single trait through multiple generations
- Super-fast generation cycle of 35 to 40 days
- Quick set up, quick results
Grades 8–12. How do we inherit certain traits? Students explore Mendelian genetics through growing and pollinating F1 hybrid plants to produce F2 seed. Analysis of inheritance is based on segregation of one gene in the F2 generation. The experiment illustrates the principles of inheritance of unit characters, dominance, and segregation.
The entire experiment takes only 55 days. Kit contains enough materials for a single student and includes 1-year access to digital resources that support 3-dimensional instruction for NGSS.
