Carolina Investigations® for AP® Environmental Science: Biogeochemical Cycles 1-Station Kit (with perishables)

Product Code: 181063P

Description

Students study the biogeochemical cycles at work in a miniature aquatic ecosystem. They set up a gallon aquarium, then—each week—measure water loss, temperature, and levels of pH, nitrite/nitrate, phosphate, and hydrogen sulfide. They also observe and record changes in biodiversity weekly. After 2 weeks, students design and implement an experiment to manipulate a parameter of the ecosystem and, in the following weeks, observe its effects on the system.

This kit is designed for 1 group of 4 students. Digital teacher’s manual, included FREE with kit purchase, is a 12-month eBook license to the Biogeochemical Cycles Teacher’s Manual and Student Guide. Note: Kit ships with perishable materials included for immediate use. Restricted states will be shipped compatible organisms and/or plants (Elodea canadensis, Elodea najas, or Charadepending on availability). Canadian customers must apply for a Canadian Department of Agriculture permit.
