Description
Grades 9–12. Learn how the different properties of soil relate to plant growth and agricultural economics through these hands-on explorations. Students conduct a variety of experiments to reveal the nature of unknown soil samples. Their tests examine the composition of soil, water-holding capacity, permeability, pH and macronutrient ion content, and ion-exchange capacity.
All activities are conducted in a lab setting as students test provided samples and the unknown samples they’ve collected. Includes enough materials for 30 students.
