Product Details
Preserved rats have become popular dissection specimens for teaching mammalian anatomy. As fully developed adults, their mature organs and organ systems allow students to easily examine muscular, cardiovascular, digestive, and reproductive structures.
These specimens are:
- Small and convenient to dissect with little fluid in the body cavity
- Great comparisons for human anatomy because of their similar body plan
- Economical

Carosafe®
Carosafe® preservative and holding solution for biological specimens contains no formaldehyde and is not a tissue fixative. Most Carosafe® specimens were first preserved with a formalin solution and then washed before placement in Carosafe®. Specimens are held in Carosafe® prior to shipment, producing formalin-preserved specimens that, when dissected, minimize formaldehyde exposure.
