Description
- Investigate the properties of ionic and covalent chemical bonds
- Represent ionic and covalent bonds using Lewis structures
- Develop skills in designing and conducting experiments
Students explore the properties of chemical bonds. As they analyze the results of their investigations and compare the Lewis structure of each type of bond, they learn about the basic properties of ionic and covalent bonds. Students then use this knowledge to design and conduct their own experiment to determine the type of bonds present in 2 unknown substances.
