Expanding on the Gas Laws Kit Refill

Product Code: 251255

Description

  • Use real-world comparisons to understand the mole as a unit of measure
  • Create unique microscale apparatus to investigate gas laws
  • Graph data to analyze relationships

Grades 9–12. Through multiple investigations and real-world examples, students explore the concept of the mole and test Boyle’s, Charles’s, and the ideal gas laws. Using a capillary tube and syringe they create unique miniature gas compartments to explore the effects of temperature and pressure on a gas. As a final activity, student use their knowledge of the gas laws to design an experiment that demonstrates the relationships among temperature, pressure, volume, and moles.

Part of the Inquiries in Science™ series. Materials are sufficient for 30 students working in groups of 3.
