Description
This plastinated real pig heart is sectioned longitudinally to reveal all 4 chambers of the typical mammalian heart. Students can use it to explore the heart’s valves, musculature, and other important anatomical structures. Plastination gives the specimen durability, enabling it to be handled regularly without the risk of damage.
Use this specimen as a supplement to actual hands-on dissection labs, to prepare students for what they will see during the dissection, and/or for assessment once the dissection is complete.
Right and left halves of the heart are connected. Specimen requires no special storage. However, it should be handled with care and covered when not in use to reduce dust accumulation. Approximate size of each cross section, 4-1/2 x 3″.
