Description
Explore the effects of disease on the human heart using these three 2-part, 1/2x life-size models. One model depicts normal heart anatomy, and the effects of congestive heart failure and myocardial infarction are shown on the other 2. Compare overall shape and myocardium thickness in diseased and healthy hearts using these models. Ventricular muscle thickening due to hypertension and distortion of the heart are depicted as effects of congestive heart failure. The thin, discolored, infarcted area and a thrombus in the apex of the heart are shown in the model displaying myocardial infarction. All 3 models are mounted on 1 base. Each model can be detached from the base for up-close, hands-on examination. Includes a full-color, double-sided, illustrated key card showing external and internal anatomy of all models. Approximate sizes (without base), 4 x 2-1/4 x 1-3/4″.
