Description
Planispheres are used to locate bright objects in the night sky. A planisphere consists of a movable white disc within a plastic frame that has all of the stars marked on it. The Night Sky Planisphere is designed for low distortion and has a light background for easy night readability. The unique 2-sided design allows for north and south facing readings. To use the planisphere, simply hold it toward the horizon in the direction you want to observe. To locate a sky object, dial in the month and year by rotating the white inner disc in the direction of observations to be made (East, West, etc). 30 to 40° N. Made of durable plastic, 8 1/2″ in diameter.
