Water Treatment and Filtration Kit

Product Code: 652781

Description

Great for small groups or for students who are working at home!
Students develop knowledge of the processes performed at a water treatment plant and learn the reasons for each process. They perform, on a small-scale, several of the procedures that occur in a water treatment plant on “polluted” water. They examine the changes in the water after each treatment step is performed. Students also observe physical characteristics of water, such as clarity, color, and odor and how they are affected from the beginning of the treatment process until the end. Contains enough materials for 5 groups and includes teacher’s manual and student study guide.

This kit addresses the following Next Generation Science Standards*:
Performance Expectation(s)

MS-PS1-2. Analyze and interpret data on the properties of substances before and after the substances interact to determine if a chemical reaction has occurred.
HS-PS1-3. Plan and conduct an investigation to gather evidence to compare the structure of substances at the bulk scale to infer the strength of electrical forces between particles.
