Description
The Mohs hardness scale was invented by Friedrich Mohs in 1812. Since then, the Mohs hardness scale has assisted geologists in determining the identity of minerals. With this kit students become familiar with the Mohs hardness scale and develop skills that will help them throughout their studies in earth science. The kit also gives students an opportunity to go out into their local environment and investigate the relative hardness of the minerals around them. Kit includes samples of materials with various levels of hardness and a teacher’s manual.
