Description
Marty the humanoid robot is one of the best values in the marketplace. It offers a learning progression from screen-free coding to Scratch® and Python™ and eventually to ROS® (Robot Operating System)—something that otherwise could only be achieved by using several different robots. Marty introduces foundation concepts such as sequencing, storytelling, and the relationship between instructions and operations, enabling kids to develop their creative thinking, problem-solving, and computational thinking skills in the process.
Marty comes fully assembled but students can take it apart and put it back together again. Students can also customize Marty with the included stickers. Compatible with Raspberry Pi® and BBC Micro:bit. Program Marty from a PC or the app for Android® or iOS® devices. Connect using Bluetooth®, Wi-Fi®, USB, or I2C for custom add-ons.
Marty has moves! Its unique walking mechanism allows Marty to walk, turn, dance, kick a ball, balance on one leg, sidestep, and more. Marty is more stable and robust than other walking robots because each limb is controlled by specific motors (9 in all!). Built-in sensors mean Marty can be programmed to avoid obstacles and falling off table edges. Color sensors enable Marty to be programmed screen free and unplugged.
