Description
Acting as forensic investigators, students use pollen as a forensic tool to piece together a timeline showing where Ötzi the Iceman, one of the world’s oldest known natural mummies, may have traveled for the last 36 hours of his life. Through microscopy, they observe a variety of pollens from different geographic locations. Students then compare them with pollen samples from Ötzi’s digestive tract to construct a map of his travels in the Ötzal Mountains, where he died. Includes teacher’s manual with reproducible student guide and FREE 1-year access to digital resources that support 3-dimensional instruction for NGSS. Kit is designed for 8 groups of 3 to 4 students.
